BC Long COVID Survey
This initiative is a part of the Multi-provincial surveillance systems for Post-COVID-19 Conditions and Outcomes (MSPCo) project
Long COVID, also known as Post COVID Conditions (PCC), continues to pose significant health challenges, but its full impact remains uncertain. To better understand the prevalence, risk factors, and long-term health and economic effects of PCC, we require accurate and robust methods for its identification and characterization.
The BC Long COVID Survey collects data from adult residents of British Columbia about their experiences with COVID-19. This data is instrumental in refining an existing algorithm developed by our team to identify PCC more effectively.
Our project also involves collaboration with individuals who have lived experience with PCC. Their insights are important in enhancing the accuracy of the algorithm. Once improved, this algorithm will be made available for use across other Canadian provinces, furthering our ongoing COVID-19 research and collaborations.

—INVITATION
You are cordially invited to take part in the BC Long COVID Survey. Your participation in this survey is greatly valued and will contribute to our understanding and management of this evolving health issue. Responses from the Survey will be used to inform provincial COVID-19 response plans and management plans. Survey participants will also have an opportunity to take part in future research activities. As a resident of BC (and 18 years or above), you are invited to participate in the survey by clicking the button below.
—IMPACT
The BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) and the University of British Columbia are collaborating to focus on early warning systems aimed at detecting potential surges in COVID-19 transmission and crafting tools to precisely identify individuals experiencing post-COVID conditions (PCC), enabling prompt intervention when necessary. These joint endeavors encompass the utilization of surveys, mobility data, and various administrative health data to track changes in physical distancing behaviors and identification of individuals grappling with PCC. Responses from the Survey will be used to inform provincial COVID-19 response plans and management plans.
